I often hear people say that you cannot measure Social Media. More specifically, that you cannot measure results from Social Media marketing. I think this is just not true. My guess is this myth started when companies tested Facebook and Twitter campaigns and got shoddy results. They couldn’t tie it to ROI. But, Social Media is on the web and other web marketing like SEO, paid search, affiliate programs, and display ads are all trackable. I’ve done work with Intuit, Betfair, and a few startups and all of them can track their Social Media efforts to their marketing objectives. In fact, Social Media gives you the opportunity to track even more metrics.
