Editor’s Note: This is the second in our new We are EM (Monkeys Are People Too) series.
Silicon Valley Native
A Silicon Valley native born and raised in San Jose, Audrey Tracy took a circuitous route to marketing. In college she studied science and environmental issues. Then she scored an internship at a local PR firm, fell in love with marketing, ditched the science, and never looked back. After graduation, she received a call from a recruiter at Intuit on a Thursday: Can you start on Monday? Audrey took the plunge and accepted the shortterm contract gig; she ended up staying there for seven years and left an experienced marketer. She then began consulting.
Working Magic Behind the Scenes
Audrey is a modern day jill-of-all-trades who most enjoys the customer facing side of marketing. She excels at messaging, images, and bringing campaigns together, making sure they look strong and cohesive. To her, it’s fun being the person behind the campaign, the “lady behind the curtain” who creates the words and images that customers see. It’s one of the reasons some of her favorite work has involved heavy doses of TV commercials and social media.

The eBay Experience
Recently she’s devoted her efforts to developing and managing a multi-channel program aimed at educating, informing, and inspiring professional eBay sellers. With a Facebook page, Twitter page, LinkedIn group, and a blog, the goal of the program is to help eBay sellers become the best sellers they can possibly be through education, tips, and news. This role gets Audrey as close to customers as she can possibly be: just on the other side of a Facebook post or tweet. Audrey is active in all parts of the program: content creation, publishing, monitoring and community management, as well as metrics and analytics to drive continual optimization.

Dedicated Mom with an Eye for Interior Design
Out of the office, spending time with her six-year-old son is her favorite pastime. With him, she gets to enjoy amusement parks, water slides, BMX parks, and, of course, a whole lot of Legos. She also enjoys interior design, constantly rearranging the furniture, pestering her husband with new ideas, skimming design blogs, and pinning new ideas to Pinterest like mad.
