Client Project: Website Redesign for Wurl
Background
Wurl, a startup based in Palo Alto with an office in Santa Monica, seeks to connect the best video producers with the best distribution platforms, making monetization easy by streamlining workflows and eliminating the need for costly engineering. As they entered into a new funding round, they wanted to better build awareness and brand recognition, and engage their target audiences, through an informative and compelling website experience. They desired a clean, professional site that delivers a customer-first perspective that is collaborative, friendly, and approachable. Specifically they wanted a site that appeals to customers, recruits, and investors, and one that would make it easy for any user to contact Wurl.
Approach
EM stepped right up to provide strategy, content, design, and development for their new video-friendly website that is modern and able to scale with Wurl’s growing business. Starting with competitive research to help inform positioning strategy, we worked collaboratively with Wurl to gain a foundational understanding of their business and craft brand new website messaging and content. Using that foundation, we finalized sitemap and structure by building a clickable prototype. From there, we transitioned into visual design, relying on a clean, minimalist style driven by original iconography.
Once design was finalized, we developed the new site on WordPress, giving Wurl unparalleled ability to easily edit the site, and build new content. The ease of the WordPress platform, coupled with the WordPress training we provided at the end of the project, left Wurl in a great position to take ownership of their website and seamlessly grow it in parallel with their expanding business.
